YOUR PRIVACY

Understanding
our measurements.

We use Google Analytics and, with your permission, ministry analytics to understand where readers find us, which reflections encourage them, and how they use our audio messages. You can read and listen without accepting analytics cookies.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 runs in advanced consent mode. Before acceptance or after decline, it can send limited cookieless measurements to Google. These requests include network information that Google may use to derive approximate location. Declining does not block all requests to Google. Accepting enables analytics cookies and fuller measurement. We do not send newsletter email addresses or phone numbers as analytics event parameters. Advertising consent remains denied; analytics acceptance is not advertising consent. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals prevent our Google tag from loading.

See Google’s privacy policy. Google’s reports are separate from the ministry’s custom dashboard. Google Analytics uses its own cookie identifiers after acceptance; they are not stored in the ministry analytics database.

What we count

After you accept, our custom analytics count page views, article views, audio starts, listening milestones, share actions, and contact-link clicks. Page views include approximate city, state or region, and country information estimated by our hosting network or GeoJS. After consent, your browser contacts GeoJS directly, which receives your IP address to estimate your location. We retain only city, region, and country from the response, not its IP address or coordinates. See the GeoJS privacy policy. Browser-reported estimates are not verified identities. These estimates may describe a nearby city or a VPN location; some visits have no location information.

Location totals count page views, not distinct people. Someone who reads three pages can contribute three views. We do not build named visitor profiles or track a person across websites.

Event records contain the page path, action, calendar day, approximate location, a random receipt used to prevent duplicate counts, and whether the site is in preview or public mode. Our custom analytics database does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, street addresses, GPS coordinates, browser fingerprints, or persistent visitor identifiers. Event receipts and their location fields are removed after 90 days when new events are processed; aggregate counts remain. Older visits cannot be assigned locations retroactively.

Your choice

Ministry analytics and GeoJS remain off until you choose “Accept analytics.” “Decline” keeps those off and tells Google to deny analytics cookie storage; Google may continue cookieless measurement. A first-party preference cookie, abg_analytics_consent_v3, remembers either choice for six months. We ask again when the location-processing notice changes. It contains only your choice, not an identifier or location. You can change your choice below or through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops future ministry analytics and GeoJS collection and denies Google analytics cookie storage; it does not erase existing aggregate totals.

Analytics require JavaScript and your permission. We also respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

Your newsletter subscription

We ask for your email address and separate permission to send new reflections. Analytics cookie choices do not subscribe you. Resend sends a confirmation email, and you join the mailing list only after opening the link and pressing the confirmation button. We do not currently collect phone numbers.

Pending addresses are encrypted in our private database. Confirmation tokens are random, stored only as hashes, and expire after 24 hours. Expired pending records are removed when signup requests are processed. After confirmation, we remove the pending encrypted address and keep a keyed email hash, Resend contact reference, confirmation time, and consent wording version as a private consent record. Resend stores your subscriber address to deliver updates; see Resend’s privacy policy.

Every article update will include an unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribed addresses and do not add them back automatically. You can also email the ministry to request removal or help. We do not publish subscriber information or send email addresses to Google Analytics or GeoJS through our custom events. Signup forms use request limits to reduce abuse. Unsubscribe and consent records may be retained to honor your preferences.

Prayer requests and other messages

The message form sends your name, message, and optional reply email through Resend to Donci’s ministry email inbox, where they are retained for correspondence. Choosing “Anonymous” leaves your name out of the message. If you provide an email address for a reply, Donci can see that address. Without an email address, he can read your message but cannot send a reply. Messages and testimonies are not published on the website or added to the newsletter list.

We do not load Google Analytics or ministry analytics on the message form page. Message text, names, and reply email addresses are not saved in the site’s database or included in analytics events. To limit spam, the site keeps temporary request counts and, when available, a keyed daily hash of the network address. It does not store the raw network address in these counters. Counters expire within 48 hours and are removed when new form requests are processed. Our email providers process messages to deliver and store them; see Resend’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

Email and hosting

You can use the message form or a direct email link, which opens your email application. Newsletter subscriptions use a separate signup form.

Our hosting provider processes network information to deliver and secure the site and may maintain separate operational logs or traffic analytics. The choices above control the ministry’s custom analytics and Google consent state, not those separate hosting functions.
